I agree totally with the comment above - how many pedestrians have been killed by pedicabs. None to my knowledge - and we certainly can't say that about polluting vehicles! I live in Midtown, and pedicabs are the least problematic vehicle on the street.
It's absolutely appalling that Speaker Quinn is placing her personal interests above the interests of the residents of NYC. This is a time when we should be strongly promoting non-polluting forms of transport, not limiting them.
If she plans a run for Mayor, I'll donate to whomever runs opposite. And I'll send along a copy of this story to anyone who tells me they plan to support her.
