Our State Department amazes me. The families of the Pan Am 103 victims have left quite a legacy, but much of their success has been against the wishes of the State Department. This was true in Democratic as well as Republican administrations. Our Government opposed legislative as well as legal efforts sought by the families to achieve some measure of justice. This is not a new story.
