Too much mixing of behaviors and personal feelings in your article! It's hard to tell where you stand just on the issue. Are you in favor of reducing greenhouse gases, etc., or not? There are good characters and bad characters on both sides; the danger is that we may get too wrapped up in who we don't like and just let the issue wait until it results too late in a crisis for the planet. If it doesn't produce a crisis, we can breathe a sigh of relief. If it does, then we may have regrets because we didn't focus enough on the issues.
