Your editorial is silent on Ms. Mauskopf's performance as New York State Inspector General. This is surprising since she held that position for seven years, far longer than her present position as U.S. Attorney.
However, during those seven years she never established a functioning website for her office. All that time the IG website home page (and only page) read: "Future Web Site of Office of the NYS Inspector General."
As the public service mission of the IG is to root out corruption, members of the public, state employees, and contractors could have provided a treasure trove of leads.
Then why in her seven year tenure did she fail to establish a functioning website -- even though the website architecture was available as evidenced by the "Future Web Site of ..." on the home page?
I think it is a valid basis to lack confidence that she will diligently perform her duties as a federal judge.
