Olmert, Abbas Hold Talks on Palestinian Statehood

This is just all for show, on the part of Abbas and Olmert.

I ask, how can any talk of peace be serious when most of the Palestinian Government is againt Israel's existence, will not renounce violance againt the Jewish state and the so-called "territories", and won't adhere to prior agreements negotiated under Oslo 1 and 2 by both the Palestinian Authority and Israel?

The main and difficult issues of the Arab refugess and their offspring moving to Israel proper, Jerusalem, demilitarization of any Palestinian state, borders and recognizing Israel were not touched at this 2nd meeting between the two antagonists.

So, except for compliance with Condi Rice's intrustion into this conflict, what will be gained, except more confusion., a wasted and futile effort.

Egypt's leader says that a peace agreement will stop the violence.

In other words, when Israel withdraws to the Holocaust borders of pre-67, gives up East Jerusalem, turns back time to 47 before the 48 Arab migration a few miles north and east into Lebanon, Syria and Jordan, lessens all controls over the Strip and West Bank, pays compensation for Muslims who left Israe and choose not to return under the agreement, Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, Fatah, and all the surrounding Arab countries, will accept Israel's right to exist.

One rub, (among many) in all this rhetoric, is Iran's attitude. Will they stop enriching uranium? Will they give up their goal of destroying the Jewish state? Would another Palestinian state (including Jordan), stop them from launching another Holocaust against the Jews? Will Al Qaeda accept any such agreement?

If Hamas is any example, their latest threat to kidnap more Jewish soldiers, to exchange for Arabs incarcerated in Israel jails convicted of crimes, should serve as an example of how far Israel can trust these thugs and murderers. Simply put, any agreement is not worth the paper it's written on, now and in the future.

Allow for Palestinian autonomy in the Stip and West Bank, and access and control of Muslim holy sites, should be Israel's only response.
