Remarks from a country on the fast lane to islamization...
In France, we have the same phenomenon, with gang rapes against non-veiled women or girls occuring now and then in arab districts (named officially in France as "sensitive districts"). These gang rapes are called "tournantes" in France. The girls are usually forced by a dozen or more arab-african teenagers to go down to a dilapidated basement in a housing project and are let go away only after a night of violence/rape by all of the thugs (ther's been instances where they kept the victim for days...). That's why there's a pressure against women in such districts to wear a veil. The government, allied here with secularist and human-rights organizations, have promoted the work of a resisting group of women called "ni putes ni soumises" (neither whores nor submissive) who try to oppose to this trend and to the strong misoginy in these districts. But I doubt of the efficiency of the group. When arrested and judged, these thugs usually smile and insult the victims and the victim's family in the court room. They usually also have friends coming in numbers in the court house to try to start violence and intimidate the judges toward a lenient sentence.
