Court Backs EPA Chief in 9/11 Toxins Case
in response to reader comment: Lies are lies

The thing about letting officials off the hook for official actions that do great harm is that the next time and the time after that and so on will be more of the same. Where does it stop? With knowledge aforethought and some serious efforts at providing emergency safety gear, some of the injuries and deaths might have been prevented. Certainly, the civilians on Wall Street and local residents would have been kept out of harm's way. Down the road, there may come a day when confidence in the veracity of the EPA, and for that matter, all our government agencies, will adversely impact our econmy in ways we cannot fathom. Trust, once broken, is quite difficult to rebuild.
