Albany Eyes a New Tax — on Pets
in response to reader comment: Padavan's Pet Tax

Submitted by TB, Apr 22, 2007 15:48

Does anybody actually think that this tax will go to shelters? Maybe in the first year, but you can be sure that once a budget impasse hits, guess what tax will be raised first? This is just another excuse to raise the already significant tax burden that we New Yorkers have. Its a joke. I voted for Senator Padavan to help reduce my tax bill, not increase it. I love my cats but paying an extra tax on their food is so stupid.
