Could be construed as one who gives up deeply held beliefs for monetary recompense. I would have to say that France is hardly a sell-out for this reason. Thier deeply held beliefs, while seemingly condescending at times, is one of tolerance and peace toward other cultures. So it's not surprising that they would extend the Louvre there. As for sell-outs, our corporations have been in the area for YEARS, exploiting the hunger for western culture and ideas, while our people say they are enemies. Let's see.....People bad, but we'll trade with them because they give us dollars. Who looks like a sell-out now? America somehow hates these folks, but are happy to do business there as long as dividends go up?
Please. Realize that the French merely value things in different proportions than us US folk. No one has cause or right to call either "sell-out" or "coward".
