There are two problems with this article.

1. Obama as a potential future candidate should represent Americans not just a segment of America. The fact that wealthy americans donate as well as everyone else just suggests broad appeal.

2. How can you ban donations from people who know lobbyists? It is a high bar to imply that if you know anything about or anyone working in Washington politics, you should remove your self as a potential donor. All Americans should have the right to donate to candidates as individuals representing their concerns.

Maybe we can find the details of donations by occupation or wealth categories. Until we do, I for one are one of the proud donaters (50$) and I am still an unemployed student doing what I can to get by.
