Obama's position is honest and forthright. I think it's great that he does not accept money from registered Capitol Hill lobbyist. Invariably, some of the donors are going to be indirectly linked to some kind of lobbying activity, group or person. The only way to completely avoid it would be to accept donations only from "poor people" with no exceptions. That's not realistic. First of all, because we're poor we're unlikely to donate. I would like to donate $25.00 to Obama's campaign but I can't afford it. There are many others out there like me that want to give but simply cannot.
Some of the other candidates accept money from Capitol Hill lobbyists and PACs (whom they WILL owe favors to if elected) and ANYBODY else who will give. Some of the candidates seem not to have any code of ethic when it comes to accepting donations. Obama has at least made it clear that he will not accept any and all money because that money comes with STRINGS attached.
