Reid should suffer a fate similar to that of Vallandigham's literary incarnation in Edward Everett Hale's "A Man Without a Country" whom after publicy besmirching The United States of America was sentenced to a life on the high seas unable to ever again set foot on the sacred ground of the Country that he had verbally betrayed. At the very least let us hope that the good people of Nevada wisen up, and he goes the way of Daschle.

What is lost on Read and his ilk is that opposing the war and rooting for defeat are not symbiotic positions.

Historically speaking the U.S. military has been in tougher jams than this and the last time I checked we have a pretty darn good track record. If this were the year 1779 -- Reid and his ilk would be tarred and feathered in the public square.
