Fanciest Postal Code Is About To Be Split Up

Submitted by Emese Latkoczy, Apr 25, 2007 16:20

I lived in 10028 and remember when we became 10128. But at least it was a "related" zip code. In this respect I agree with the Haywood's assessment of the situation on both scores.

None of what the Postal Service does makes much sense.

(1) Bad service, competition from EMAIL, so what do they do...raise the rates! Now, there's a sound business decision.

(2) I just learned about the 10021 split two weeks ago cause I travel a lot but I really doubt that there was a massive public opinion poll, several town meetings, publicity, etc. conducted on this decision BEFORE it was made. Perhaps to get input from those who actually PAY (twice, I may add) for the service and are IMPACTED by the decision.

(3) On the note of publicity, I went to the USPS website and entered "10021" "10021 zip code change" etc. and lo and behold, nothing came up. You'd think they'd post information like this because not only people who live there are effected.
