Baby Whale Dies After Days in Gowanus Canal

Submitted by AGH, Apr 25, 2007 21:47

I visited this Brooklyn area once and saw a group of children playing in the local playground. I noticed they were all special children with obvious disabilities & various ages. I asked one of the teachers if they were visiting from a school outside of the neighborhood. The teacher said they were kids from the Red Hook. I wondered why no-one challenged the impact of toxic pollution on children...

The NYC Dep't of Health published a fact sheet after 9/11 stating that returning to Ground Zero posed no threat to pregnant women or children.

I heard a social worker saw that her four month old grandson sneezed in the delivery room at birth ( she was there) and has sneezed every day of his life.

When the whale died it seemed telling again that something is VERY WRONG.

Wake Up, Brooklyn environmentalist!!!
