What this all comes down to is these mindless computer games these emotionally isolated individuals play. And paint ball isn't far from it. These games get you pumped to knock out a slew of targets that are getting more and more realistic every day. We flilrt with being the protagonist in a Schwartzneger movie who takes on the world and wins.
That Yale is playing silly games with swords in plays leads me to think that the next thing that goes is a PC alteration of Shakespeare. Frankly, since English majors don't HAVE to take a Shakespeare class in most of the top 30 college and universities anymore the old boy is getting just farher and farther away from us. The cannon of Western Civ. is heading down the tubes. Not in public performances, but in academia. and of course, the next step is that he will be forgotten in schools, each generation of teachers letting him grow foggier and foggier in their ciriculum. That Yale still mentions 'God' surprises me. Have they changed England to the UK yet? and isn't it generally agreed by our soi disant educators that St. George is a myth? When I recently read that the woman who is the administrator of the Crown prison system in England had stopped the flying of the Union Jack from prison buildings because it contained the cross of St. George which the English had carried into the Crusades and would be offensive to Muslims, I knew the end was near. Heu, heu, heu...
