If anyone isn't assured that liberalism is a mental disease, a major qualifier for such a diagnosis can be found in the annual hoop-de-doo over the male vs. female pay squabble. While conservatives remain confident that work skills are the scale by which each of us should be measured, the liberals want an economic environment in which paychecks distributed to both men and women on an equal scale. There are too many factors arguing against this absurd proposition, so I turn my attention to the fact that women have never had it so good in this country. I spent more than 50 years in the work place and was happy with what I received. I knew that in some cases female counterparts were taking home bigger checks than mine. I never complained, but I worked harder in an effort to close the gap. What a dreary world it would be if each of us shared the same likes and dislikes and reaped the same rewards regardless of our work and survival skills. I wish my liberal friends would quit yapping about inequality and promote diversity in our everyday lives. They can start by recognizing that each of us is different in so many ways, and that includes the marketplace and working world.
