Simply quit - as many democrats and some republicans want.
Or fight as we did in WWII - and use the BOMB if we save OUR lives in so doing.
I studied under one of the principle developers of the bomb, Emilio Segre (a partner of Enrico Fermi). He never regreted one iota what was done and NEEDED to be done.
