Prisoner Swap Not Feasible, Olmert Says

Here in the States, we have 25 to life for 3 felonies We have capital punishment.

Israel doesn't have capital punishment for even the most heinous of crimes. This leaves the door open for murderers who are convicted, to go free per some "deal" with the Palestinians or Lebanese.

Look at it this way, the Arabs are in a win win situation. If they are killed in a conflict, they go to heaven. If they suceed in their goal of murdering Jews, they are honored by their own people. Under Saddam, their families receifved 25,000 if a suicide bomber was killed. Streets in the territories are named after them.

If a terrorist is captured, he (she) can expect this sort of negotiation between Israel (Olmert) and his people., which sometimes does lead to his release (to return later and commit more murders).

This is the bottom line: Israel should have capital punishment, and 25 to life at hard labor for these types of crimes. Whether it uses lethal injection, or the electric chair, or the noose, is of no consequence. If it needs assistance, it can emulate Jordan, Egypt or Saudi Arabian techniques.

The best example I can think of right now of Israeli timidity, is the abuse that Marwin Barghouti is heaping on his captors. I mean, this guy had the chutpah to create a document (prisoner) while behind bars to end the conflict.

Can you believe?
