Identity Crisis at the Brooklyn Museum

If the museums need to increase the number of their visitors, why don't they make themselves transportation friendly? Why don't they have a designated bus route only to museums? I would like to go to the Brooklyn Museum directly from the Met. Years ago you could go to the Cloisters from the Met on a small bus that left from the front of the Met and returned you there. Why make it difficult?
