Why would any business owner hire men if they have to pay them so much more than women for doing the same work? In today's competitive climate, a motivated business owner could hire only women and reap the economic benefits by having a 25% cost of labor advantage. In fact, why pay women a mere 75% of men's pay. Pay them 85%. This will attract the most qualified women (who wouldn't turn down a 10% raise for doing the same work) and still provide a 15% advantage. This is guaranteed to succeed - assuming women really do earn 75% of what men earn for doing the same work.
