A Grand Goodnight For Alice Tully Hall

If indeed the strings from Julliard actually sounded like Mantovani and I am sure they only closley resembled them, they this was a sincere form of respect for the greatest orchestra leader/arranger anc composer of all time (judging by international sales for over fifty years). Why you would consider such an attempt at emmulating the King of Light Orchestra music to be a dissappointment is more likely your own poorly developed musical ear. Go to Amazon.com and search for offerings from your favorite artists, namely the CD releases of recordings and count the issues, then do the same for Mantovani and see how popular he is. Go to the Mantovani Fan Website http://www.hallowquest.com/mantiindex.htm and see why his millions of fans around the world remain loyal customers for his product. He died in 1980.
