Have we heard, read, and seen in film (The Pawnbroker) scenarios of survivor culture shock and survivor guilt? -- at least as Adam Kirsch describes DeLillo's work? We have pretty much scripted how survivors of such incomprehendable events (name them) act out their alienation and what becomes the mythogenesis of the 2nd and 3rd removed renditions. The collective rendition of events becomes a hyper-reality of a reality that now seems a work destined for film.
