It seems to me that every time Bush publicly defends the war he further aggravates voters by reminding them that he is doing something they are very much against.
If he keeps this up, the increasing intensity of voter annoyance might well bring about an anti-Bush, anti-Iraq war, landslide for the Democrats in November 2008.
If he were smart, he'd tone his remarks way, way down. But if he were smart would he even be in Iraq?
