It's very interesting to see how conflict plays out in the minds of extremists. To them, everything is a cosmic battle between Good and Evil ....and, predictably, they always see themselves as the Good Guys (no matter how many lies they have told, crimes they have committed, etc etc). And of course, anyone who doesn't agree with them -- anyone who even questions them -- is Evil.

Even as Nutjob #1 (al-Muhajir) goes on a wild-eyed rant about the Evils of Western Civilization, Nutjob #2 (Kazimi) goes on a wild-eyed rant about how everyone who isn't a loyal party-line-spouting NeoCon is the Enemy of all that is Good. I wonder... does he even realize how much he sounds like the man who he is decrying? Does he have any idea that he comes off every bit as hyperbolic, unreasonable, theatrical, and fanatical as the nutjob about whom he writes?

I sincerely doubt it ... I suspect he never will. I predict that he will always find some excuse, some post-facto rationalization, so that he can keep thinking of himself as one of the Good Guys, no matter how closely his words or actions resemble those of the Bad Guys.
