I don't think anyone is whining but simply pointing out that getting a thumbs up from Al Qaeda over the election win would not instill a lot of confidence in thier ability to be strong on national security. Iraq, notwithstanding, I have yet to hear from Pelosi and company what they are going to do about national security unless of course raising the minimum wage somehow will make us all safer.

As for Iraq, yes, big mistake. Then again what has really changed? Before we were there it was the Sunnis slaughtering Shiites and Kurds and no one really care (kinda like Darfur) so to now jump on the moral hobby horse and worry about blood stained hands is a wee bit disengenious. A wise man once said that for evil to prevail, good men need to do nothing. So while it looked like an honorable thing at first to remove the worst dictator since Pol Pot, it would appear most of the Iraqis would rather settle tribal scores than create a liberal democratc society. I hope we don't ever make this mistake again.
