I think the best way to lower college costs is to completely privatize all public colleges. No colleges should have special real estate tax breaks, and donations to colleges should not be tax deductible. Also, the government shouldn't prevent colleges from practicing affirmative action. Those that harm themselves by dong so will lose ou. That would make universities more like a business, and they would compete with each other. Of courses, costs will always remain high, but not ridiculous. Also, hopefully more colleges will restructure themselves that they will only last 2 years and that they won't require graduate school for their students to earn an upper class living.

The same must be done for secondary schools: they must be privatized and able to operate under the free market. The best secondary schools will be able to prepare students to the point that they won't need a four year college to earn a middle class job. Hopefully, the number of students attending college will be drastically reduced, as the majority of them only attend to gain a career.

Hopefully, medical and law schools might be accepting 18 year old students as freshmen right out of high school.
