My family immigated many year's ago from Ireland. I'm sure that if the immigates from long ago, would be greatly disappionted in the laws and the discrimation of those legally trying to enter this "great country"...The illegal's that have come here, have more right's and benefit's, that most of us hard working American's do not have. As far as The Patriot Act, I know it is being used to "target the wrong people". I have neighbor's that are English, they own a home in this country for 25 year's, they had businesses, they have Social Security Number's, they havve paid taxes, but they can only stay in this country for short periods of time. They would love to retire here but because of the new laws they cannot. I find this very disturbing. I thought England was our biggest ally, against terrorism, but we won't let them stay in our country. If your Spanish, Mexican, Muslim etc. the welcome mat is rolled out for thhem. We must fix this system, it is not working and targeting thhe wrong people....
