Olmert: Firing Livni Would Spark More Turmoil

To an outside observer, it appears that Israel right now is very confused about a lot of things.

Even though we are seeing democracy at work to it's fullest, their current clmate does not bode well for the future.

If Israel's military has learned something from the Winograd commission, than fine. That should be the primary goal. It's obvious that Olmert was conflicted during the conflict, between saving lives on the ground both Jewish and Arab, insuring a victory over Hezbollah, and adhering to the cease fire.

Livni was very much part of this whole process., and she must be viewed as having been part of the problem. She gets a C minus in my book for competency...and an A for chutspah.

The real question is, is she good or bad for Israel? I would prefer Shimon Peres or someone equally articulate who is respected in the world's arena, a must for Israeli politics.

But, Israel must have a consistent, yet smart foreign policy, something it lacks now.
