Bloomberg must be really feeling pressure to offer this concession. I study parking and residential permits work very well in Boston and will here as well. If the city would also not issue so many parking permits to city workers, this would go along way to alleviating the parking problem. What's more, the city should crack down on the fake (and expired) permits that you can find in windshields any day of the week on many streets. This happens so often and is a pathetic joke - there is no reason for parking ticket writers to look the other way from these - unless someone is doing them a favor or paying them off.
