Mr. Bawer keeps writing excellent observations on the situation in Europe, which thanks to elite figures such as Amsterdam mayor Job Cohen has capitulated for radical Islam. His pessimism concerning the "momentum" of Mr. Fortuyn's cause, however, is not fully justified in my view. Fortuyn is alive and kicking, albeit on the Internet, where the amount of Dutch political weblogs and fora is growing dramatically. The established media, it seems, are not able to keep the lid on this pot, and see their market shares decline as alternative news sources are filling the gap in their reporting.
I hope our appeasing newspapers and (state) television stations will pay a heavy price for their treason. Thank God for globalization, which enables fine writers such as Mr. Bawer to sell their ideas way beyond their national borders.
Kind regards,
Mark Bogaers
