Residential Parking Permits May Accompany Congestion Tax
in response to reader comment: Residential Parking Permits are Needed - Congestion Pricing will increase that Need

I agree 100% with Residential Parking Permit. I live in Brooklyn on a residential street, we have lived in our home since 1966. Now that developers are building and renovating buildings all over, there is no place to park.. When I come in from work, I have to park in the next block or try to find parking as close to my home as possible. I feel that if I am responsible for keeping the sidewalk in front of my house clean, I should be able to park in front of my house. People who park in front of my house drop papers, cups, do oil changes, park for hours or 2 days and they may live a block away , around the corner or do not live in the neighborhood at all. Some people have 2 or 3 cars and have no respect for the home owner. I am willing to pay an annual fee just to be able to park in front of my house. My mother is 82 yrs old and when we go food shopping, I have to take her to the door and then remove the packages and then go back out to find a place to park. I remember when all the neighbors would look out for each other and you woud always park in front of your own house. Now I don't know what kind of people we are dealing with...and just because of that I would be willing to pay an annual fee. I am getting older and have a bad back problem and sometime walking is painful. We as American people and tax payers no longer have any respect and I thinks it is outragious. I need a sign that says only 2 hours parking in front of this resident from 1100 am to 1 pm and after that No Parking without a Residential Parking Permit. (maybe I should do what all the new people are doing, take down my front yard gate and make a driveway..and I know that is illegal, but no one is bothering to check) LOL
