Not really. The US produces more than it used to, even if your just considering manufactured goods. The rate of the growth isn't as high as it used to be, or as high as it is in China, and some other countries now. It also isn't as high as the rate in growth for services, so manufactured goods represent a smaller part of out economy. And with higher productivity we need less people to manufacture goods, so manufacturing employment has declined. But none of that amounts to an elimination, or a reduction, in US industry.
