A Mezzo Apart From the Pack

Thanks Jay Nordlinger for another thorough and insightful review!

I'm afraid Ms Kozena is still an acquired taste for me (I prefer a voice with more weight), though I like her 'French Arias' and the recent 'Mozart' cd's very much. Hopefully she just has high metabolism, ay? I've been quite alarmed at how thin she looks lately (some good photos of her in the recent BBC Classics magazine)... not that she's ever look filled out. Thanks for mentioning her accompanist Mr Martineau, too! I'm amazed you noticed his facial expressions at all.... Ususally it's Ms Kozena's persistent squintting that keep me from looking at anything else during her recitals!

Anyhow, thanks for another great read!
