The trends in America and in the Western nations show in poll after poll that the younger generations favor the idea of gays and lesbians having equal rights under the law and those who cling to their own bigoted beliefs will be looked upon with the same disdain as we now view the segregationists from before the 1960's. It's quite simple: those brave and righteous individuals who are first to take the stand for equality in marriage to all will ultimately be viewed favorably. Those who do not, will not.
