I was born and raised in New York state (Albany) and lived there until I was 21. I came out when I was 32 and have seen the amazing progress made in the past 15 or so years in regards to LGBT civil rights. How wonderful my home state has elected such a man as Elliot Spitzer, a straight guy who totally 'gets it' about marriage equality. It makes me glad to think that my wife and I will have yet another choice in a place to retire and become legally married. Thank you, Gov. Spitzer, for your advocacy.
