Early Playoff Preview?

Submitted by Matthew Butler, May 11, 2007 14:28

For more years than the hand can count, there has been a belief of an East Coast bias in the media. I too have fallen into the group of believers that such a thing exists. For that reason, I thank you New York Sun for printing Tim Marchman's column, "Early Playoff Preview."

As a lifelong Brewer fan, I have seen this success brewing for years as we have heard about these "budding stars" in Weeks, Fielder, Hardy, as they made their way through the minor league ranks. These stars, of course, are the one's you see on the Brewers roster today. Hardy, Weeks, Fielder, Hart, Gwynn, etc. all played together in the minors and they all won together throughout the minor league circuit. So for Brewer fans like myself, and obviously you Mr. Marchman, seeing this sort of success isn't unexpected. But we Brewer fans expect a winning percentage over .700 and one of the best starts in league history at 24-10? The resounding answer is "no." Afterall, we Brewer fans nearly forgot how good it felt to back a winning team.
