Time To Recognize Failure Of Israel-Egypt Treaty

Submitted by tito, Nov 21, 2006 18:33

Greetings,
A predicted article by a Neconservative, of Jewish descent, founder of Campus Watch (among others) - an organisation that opposes anti-American and anti-Israeli bias... (wikipedia)
Not only is the aricle full of false statements, and baseless allegations, it insights hatered and spreads flat out lies!!

I am willing to bet that if a similar survey was conducted in Israel, a 100% will vote for Egypt, Arabs, and Muslims, as an Enemy.

If Israelis are so scared of the hostile sentiments, then they ought to search for the reasons, and the best ways to make things better (in a rosey world)! rather than blaming others. The killing of civillians by Israelis and Palestinans alike is never a precursor for peace! Dialogue, acknowlegment of existance, and right for a state and reasonable humane standards of living produces peace. I am baffled, why is this so hard to understand by both Israelis and Palestinians???

The author missed to mention that these hostile sentiments, such as songs "I hate Israel, and Kifaya's initiative,... were sparked by the intifada, sniping protest leaders, killing of Al-Durra, and the incident at the beach earlier this year. If these events hadn't occured in the first place, then such sentiments and actions wouldn't occur.

As for the large quantities of weapons smuggled into Israel by Egypt. That could not be any further from the truth. That would be a violation of the peace treaty and a reson for war. Egypt has a long border with Israel, and according to the peace treaty with Israel, only 750 police (not army) lightly armoured are allowed in Sinai at any given time!! These are never enough to partol such a long border, yet stop smuglers and human trafickers. Either modify the peace treaty, or destroy these tunnels - tunnels have two ends.

In the past year, 5 Egyptian patrol police have been killed, on Egyptian soil, by Israeli snipers, not to mention civilians. Israel attacked Lebanon, because a soldier was kidnapped by Hizbullah. Do I need to say more!

The author has also ignored the trade agreement betweent Egypt Israel and the United States, the Qualified Industrial Zones QIZ, where Egyptian and Israeli manufacurers cooperate to export products to the US. Hundreds of Israeli products are distributed in the Egyptian market, and likewise in Israel, frequent visits by heads of state and minsters. This only happens with one other state in the region, Jordan.

If this is not a result of the peace treaty, then what is? Is the author looking for another war in the already flammable middle east? We've allready seen Israeli faliure in Lebanon against Hizbullah.

The author should go back to the Saudi initiative, which was unsurprisingly refused by the Israelis - the arab offer states "go back to 1967 borders, and all the Arab countries will commence full and complete relationships with Israel".

They seek peace, so act upon it!
