Turf war? The City should have a bigger share of the responsibility for regional transport decisions.

As to the MTA's cost concerns, why wouldn't the NYC DOT/NYS DOT/Bridge & Tunnel Authority control and maintain these bus only lanes? They'd be on the same city streets, highways and bridges, right?

Congestion pricing will bring NYC into the future. Driving is a privilege not a right, and users of our valuable public space that streets take up should pay more of their fair share. Most of us do not drive, either becuase we can't afford it, or it would be crazy to sit in traffic for several hours a day when we could be doing better things like getting work done!
