The only way that the Iraqi War will end is if the Congress cuts funding. If it doesn't, the war will not end. The morality and illegality and monstrous idealogue behind this war is not being questioned by the democrats. Only the strategy is being attacked and in the vaguest possible terms, as the brilliant article in Salon--"Leaving Iraq? Not So Fast" suggests.
The democrats would rather play good politics than save the lives of these young American soldiers who once again are being played like they are pieces on a game board. Waiting four to six months to begin redeployment, as Obama recommends, is absurd. That's four to six hundred more Americans dead for no reason and thousands more Iraqis. Any policy, and this seems to be everybody's policy, that relies on the Iraqi police or the Iraqi military standing up and taking charge is a non-starter. That opportunity has long come and gone. It's time for America to leave and for Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Turkey to come in and save their region from mayhem.
The demorats are the enabling wife of an alcoholic husband. These are fanatics in the White House and there should be no compromise whatsoever with them on this issue. How about some "Profiles of Courage"?
