President Bush and his advisors saw the danger from Iran and Iranian nukes long ago and they chose to do nothing. Israel and the Israeli government may have received a promise of some sort of quid pro quo for the Gaza withdrawal but apparently such secret agreements are now going to the grave with Mr. Sharon. Israel can only count on itself, it could never rely on external allies, and never will be able to rely on them. The US state department is motivated by considerations of business and finance and only very rarely does morality come into play , generally as a pretext. The people who make policy there are told to put a good gloss on all sorts of evil situations every day and they are skilled liars. Unfortunately they make foreign policy and not the president nor the people of the USA, rather a small elite of appeasers who claim to know what is good for the rest of us. They appeased us right into 9 11 , with Cap Weinberger failing to retaliate for the attack on the marine barracks, and now they are going to appease us into total disaster. Israel is Czechoslovakia, James Baker and friends, are promising peace iin our time, and Iran wants to polish off Israel and then move on to the rest of the middle east. Apparently the powers that be in the middle east and in Europe and sadly in foggy bottom, are all stupid enough to believe that the hungry shark will be satisified if Israel is thrown into his gullet.... the people in Israel have to see that they are being shafted and the military in Israel has to take action which means arresting Olmert and his gang. Olmert and his cabinet are like the Jewish police who worked with the Nazis, making sure that the rest of the Jews were complacent and fooled while the Nazis prepared the trains to the death camps. They only wanted to save their own skins but of course it did not work. The only course of action for the people of Israel to suvive is to change the map of the middle East, and to seize the petroleum assetts of the scum that threaten Israel.
