Artefill is not "cow collagen suspended in permanent Plexiglas® balls", but rather "Polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) spheres suspended in bovine (cow) collagen. Plexiglas® is a name brand, PMMA is the actual spherical substance which causes the majority of the stimulation of your own collagen production.

The collagen carrier is a suspension made with purified bovine collagen fibrils and saline, and is the liquid carrier in which the PMMA is suspended. The PMMA is in a solid spherical state and could not be the liquid carrier.

Also, not everyone is a candidate for Artefill. You should mention that there is an average of a 3% reactivity rate for those sensitive to those injected with bovine collagen products. If you have never had a bovine collagen test, you should be asked to pre-test with standard bovine collagen not containing PMMA to determine your sensitivity before you take the proverbial plunge.
