I know I must sound naive but seems to me that if you make a deal with the Palestinian President which provides a viable two-state option and that deal is continquent upon recognition that would go a long way to reducing violence. The key here is to market the plan to the general population of Israel and the Palestinians. It would succeed if there was support on the ground, nobody markets peace only war. Hizbullah was the king of the marketeers.
