A ‘Bayadère' With Bite

Bayadere is one of the great Russian Imperial ballets, without question. But I don't think I've ever read a review of this major work, particularly a review of the Markarova restaging that didn't mention the breathtaking appearence and dance of the golden idol. Was this an oversight on the reveiwers part or has ABT's bumbling Hitler at large, Kevin McKinzie cut this? An answer would be appreciated. Also...what's with the marginalizing of Angel Corella this season? I hear his contract has not bee renewed for next season. Can't McKenzie hold on to the man who has almost singlehandedly kept the lights on for ABT over the past 10 years? Might be time for the Chairman of the Board to step in and re Captain the ship.
