Another MVP Foolishly Given To the Guy With All the RBI

Submitted by Tommy, Nov 22, 2006 15:05

There is a reason it is called the most valuable player and not the best player award. Morneau was the most valuable to his team. He turned around a team (along with help from Liriano and Santana) that made the playoffs. He was the second-best 1b and dh (Ortiz was better but didn't make the playoffs). If anyone watched Twins games they realized that Morneau was the reason the Twins won. Mauer had a great average but couldn't hit in the clutch and don't tell him his avearge with runners in scoring position because it is misleading. He would hit singles with guys on second and they wouldn't score. Morneau deserved it. Look at Jeter's lineup compared to Morneau's.
