As Surge Begins To Take Hold, Tribal Leaders Turn on Qaeda

Eli;
I have to believe that at least subconsciously, and I'm fairly sure soon overtly and consciously, the Sunni must be feeling much less put-upon and left out now that oil reserves have been revealed in the western deserts. Assuming the 100 bbl figure is about right, each Sunni is on average sitting on over 4X as much oil as the average Shia or Kurd. So they no longer need to make sure they "get their fair share".

So -- Have you seen any signs of such an attitude change amongst them?
