GOP Presidential Hopefuls Square Off Over Immigration

Everywhere I look in this bill I see two things quite clearly. First and foremost is the pure and simple fact that there will be a concerted need to follow up, enforce and be serious about illegal immigration. That brings us to the second point which is that we have ample laws on the books addressing much of what this bill would do but which are ineffective because........they are not enforced. So just why in the hell will a pot full of new laws be any better enforced than the existing lot? Simply put-if the will does not exist to enforce current law why will it mysteriously materialize for this new stuff? And 1 (one) business day to check the bonafides of an alien from ANOTHER country, quite possibly a third world country with limited data bases? I have to wait longer than that to get permission to excericse my constitutionally guaranteed 2nd amendment rights for God's sake.

To Mr. McCain and his buddies-the tag 'partisanship' does annoint any bill as good or acceptable to the American people; It only means that folks too long inside the beltway have come to an agreement that makes them feel good. John needs to remember that he was not elected by Ted or Nancy or the other 'johns'-he was elected by conservative Republicans who may just have had enough of his pandering, posturing and polemics.
