Dear Editor:
Though I am a lifelong republican, the current administration has opened itself up to a well deserved wave of cristsium from anyone and everyone in the political arena. Bush, and especially Dick Cheney, has brought the party to a perception even lower than Richard Nixon's adminsitration.
Pick any issue; Iraq, The Attorney General, spying on Americans, the environment, and we republicans are on the wrong side of it. And, our standing (and ability to affect world events) is in tatters.
So, when Al Gore comes out and says pretty much what he wants, there is a lot of people that are going to take him at face value. Look at the poll results pertaining to the recent comments by Jimmy Carter about "the worse administration in history". Not only did the vast majority of American's side with Carter, they also concluded that history would judge Carter as a much better president than Bush!
And, one last comment. Bush really needs to get a handle on Cheney for he has become an embarrasment to us all.
