CBS Betrays Flaws With Cronkite Slight

Excellent commentary on the slighting of Cronkite whom I have missed since his departure from CBS. Network news - infotainment now - has suffered in his retirement and most likely will never recover. Mainstream media is obsessive about profits and about telling us how to think so that we may buy more of the products pushed on their programs. Couric may be last in the ratings, but she is "training" the next generation of viewers - if there are any - that THIS is what "news" is; pretty soon, my generation will die out and with it, the way real journalists did their jobs, whether in print or broadcast. Some governments prefer that type of non-journalism. It saddens me that my own now favors it.
