McCain is the 'darling' of the Press with opportunism as his primary characteristic, while those who love him show nothing but hatred for President Bush; they can NOT tolerate anyone truthful. Earlier they showed the same disdain for Whittaker Chambers.
I've long felt that he was the first martyr to Press/RATs assassination crew and have strengthened that conviction with my recent reading of SEEDS OF TREASON by Ralph de Toledano. Even Truman (a recently canonized saint in the liberal media) is shown to support Alger Hiss even though his testimony in the second Justice Department interrogation (both under oath) contradicted his own earlier testimony. This tiny book is fascinating and informative showing that the current onslaught on President Bush was practiced almost fifty years ago on Whittaker Chambers. His autobiography, WITNESS, thought by some to be the best autobiography ever written, is long and lyrical, but this little book by Mr de Toledano can tell the story completely, while modesty precludes Mr Chambers' praising himself.
I nominate Whittaker Chambers as the first martyr of the US Press!
