Small Models For a Towering Builder
in response to reader comment: Robert Moses' legacy

Submitted by Douglas Willinger, May 27, 2007 01:24

NY needs to correct its questionable book-keeping at its MTA; the Westway funding transfer was just a subsidy to this deplorable situation, along with as a distraction from the obscene war spending.

Everything that Moses promoted made sense as a basic schematic; his faults at times were with the details, and his adversion to tunnels, even though tunnels for the Mid Town, Lower Manhattan, and West Side Highway (Westway- which was not a Moses plan) make sense.

Especially needed is a Cross Harbor-Cross Brooklyn Tunnel to NJ I-78. That, along with a I-287 bridge/tunnel should be mandatory additions for Long Island and the region.
